Establishing Ties in the Maga-Verse

The former PM's foray to transplant Maga media to Britain has pushed her closer to contentious individuals such as Solomon.

He set up Just the News in the wake of scrutiny following accusations of promoting inaccurate reports about Biden's anti-corruption work in Ukraine, as well as controversial stories about ex-ambassador to that country.

These allegations were echoed throughout the pro-Trump outlets, with he featuring as a regular guest on Sean Hannity's influential Fox News show. Trump himself endorsed his stories.

While her awkward delivery and professional woes have drawn derision at home, some US observers are taking seriously her efforts to rebrand as a UK offshoot of the Make America Great Again press.

"It is necessary to treat folks like that as significant, even if you may not want to interpret them word-for-word," said a former Biden White House aide, who served in the Biden administration.

"It was evident how in the recent campaign the former president used that alternative press to disseminate his views. Without a doubt that ecosystem exports and influences debate overseas. It looks relatively clear to me that the conditions in the UK are similar to what enabled this alternative media ecosystem to flourish in America."

Alan Finlayson, said the digital right-wing media sphere was already making its presence felt in the UK.

"Online platforms knows no borders," he said. "There is a certain atmosphere within which stuff flows – on occasion appearing in harsh versions and occasionally in softer tones – but which is networked."

Hinton said the expansion of the internet-based right wing in the UK lately meant the "chance to have a larger effect is considerable."
